Cantey teaches two sculpture courses during the year for a small group of beginning, as well as advanced adult students. Her studio is in her home in Charlotte. Because the classes are limited to no more than 7 students, there is often a waiting list to attend these classes.

A typical course is made up of ten two-hour classes which meet weekly. Once taught the basics of sculpting the human form, many of her students choose to use these closely supervised sessions to portray a favorite subject or a family member.
